Dolly

This cute little doeling was the last addition to the family in 2004. We had been looking for another girl to add to the group when we received an email about a fall born doeling in Maryland that was looking for a new home. The deal was quickly done and away we went to Maryland to pick her up. Although Dolly was a little scared at first she relaxed and seemed to enjoy the ride to Tennessee in the new car we had just bought a couple days before. |

Dolly had a tough time of it to start with on the farm. The other
girls had already established their goaty pecking order and Dolly
was definitely on the bottom of the list. We quickly separated
the girls so Dolly could enjoy herself with only Dinah and give her a
chance to grow up a little before we combine them again.
Being the baby of the bunch, Dolly gets a lot of attention from us. She is always held and petted a bit more. Of course that's easy when she's so little and enjoys the attention. Dolly has settled in comfortably and is quickly growing her thick fleece to keep warm this winter. Dolly will always get extra care and attention from us. She has found her place with the other goats and with us. |
